All About Me

I don’t know about you, but I love getting to know the people behind the blogs. I try to let you see the real me, but I don’t think it always comes out. So today I thought I’d share 30 random things about me.
- I was a total nerd growing up
- I hate to exercise
- I love to dance, and minored in ballroom dance in college
- I have been in more parades than I can remember
- I have danced at the halftime show of homecoming at my college stadium
- I am an honorary member of my college police force for helping them out one event
- I have only kissed one guy ever
- I was valedictorian in high school
- I am a master esthetician and used to work in an upscale day spa
- I am a super artsy person. I love to craft/sew/create.
- I am not organized at all! But I’m working on that.
- I don’t drink coffee and can’t even stand the smell of it.
- I have to have my toenails painted or I feel naked
- I don’t have very many close friends because all my close friends before college turned on me, and I have a hard time letting people in.
- I am shy until you get to know me. Then you’d never call me shy at all.
- I don’t mind speaking in front of large groups or being the center of attention, but I have a really hard time going up to someone I don’t know and having a conversation with them.
- I failed my driving test when I was 16 because I was so nervous that I stopped at a red light and didn’t realize that it had turned green until the instructor told me.
- In high school I had an early morning church class that started at 5am, which meant I got up at 4:15am every day.
- I have never been outside of the country.
- I make some of the best chocolate chip cookies ever. They even earned me the title “Cookie Queen” in college.
- It takes a LOT to get me mad, but when I am mad, watch out!
- I often feel like an outsider looking in, wanting to be accepted as part of the group.
- I think it would be fun to go back through high school and jr high with my knowledge of who I am now. I think I had a hard time because I was struggling to figure that out.
- I am a terrible housekeeper! There is always clutter, no matter how hard I try to keep it clean.
- I am usually pretty good at figuring out how things work.
- I have laid concrete, re-tiled a roof, built a brick wall, and built on an extra room to a house, while my husband has a hard time with anything that requires tools.
- I miss ballroom dancing so much that sometimes I cry when watching old performances because I want to be back there doing it again.
- I used to love to draw and paint. In fact, some of my paintings of other school’s mascots are still up in my high school.
- I don’t know a thing about gardening, but I try. I usually plant things and then see what happens!
- I am NOT a morning person. I get a headache if I get up too early in the morning.

Hi Trisha,
I found your blog a few weeks ag and bookmarked it to come again. Nice post. I can relate to some of what you said. I hope you get past the people thing. I used to be like that at one point. It’s cool to make friends but you have to know who you can tell what to. I’m an only child so my friends are my substitute siblings. I can’t imagine life without them.

Great list. I was also a nerd and I too have only kissed one guy. Congrats on being valedictorian and I wish I could dance like you. I tell my husband we should take dance lessons together but he refuses to. I’m not a morning person either and could have never gotten up at 4:15 during highschool. I’m completely clueless with home repairs but luckily my husband is very good at it.

This was a fun read Trisha! You and I have a lot in common…my hubby is useless with home reno work too. I like coffee though. Speaking of which, gotta go grab a cup!
