I Microwave My Otter Pops

Call me weird if you want! My husband thinks I am completely off my rocker on this one, but I ALWAYS have to microwave my otter pops before I eat them.
I have never liked solid otter pops, and even as a kid I would wait until it was soft enough to smash up so it became more like a slushie. It is just more enjoyable for me like that.
Then when I was working at a day spa we always had otter pops in the freezer in the back room. In between clients we’d go back there and grab an otter pop to cool off. People there were like me and almost everyone would smash up their Popsicle. Only we didn’t have time to wait for it to soften on it’s own. Instead they would microwave it for just a few seconds. (3-5 second for a normal otter pop)
I thought that was brilliant, and ever since then I have to microwave my otter pops. Right now we have the large generic ones from Walmart, so I microwave those a little bit longer. In fact about 8-10 seconds is perfect in our microwave.
Try it! I bet you might not think it so weird after you’ve done it once.

Now why didn’t I think of that? I always warm my freeze pops up in my hands to get them mushie.

If you don’t call them Otter Pops, then what do you call them? That’s the name brand of them. Maybe just in the west.

I dont like to eat them hard either! I like mine like slushies too! If they’re too hard they give me goosebumps! lol I dont think you’re weird at all…well maybe a little but not b/c you zap your popsicles! lol Just kiddin!

I never did microwave one, but I think everyone waits until they’re slushie. They’re no fun when they are frozen solid.

I actually do this too, but I do more of a karate chop/squish to mine, I oughta take the short cut with the microwave, lol!
