Update on Potty Training

Thank you everyone for your great ideas for potty training. We are slowly making progress. She is finally recognizing the feeling of gotta go and is actually telling us when she needs to go. Sometimes it’s right as she is going, but it’s a start!
Yesterday I went ahead and had her in a diaper at church and over at my in-laws, but she still told us when she had to go (a few times) and actually went. This morning she used the toilet without even telling me. She just went and sat down and went herself.
I have been giving her candy when she uses the toilet successfully. We finally started a stamp chart, because I know she’d take stickers off if we used them. When her paper is full she gets a bigger treat. She’s having fun stamping the sheet and is almost half full after only a few days.
We’re making progress! We have had lots of accidents, but that’s pretty much normal. I have also looked into cloth training pants instead of pull ups that feel like underwear but help absorb things a little more. I have made a few pairs of fleece covers and they seem to work great. I’ve also ordered some PUL (waterproof material) to make some overnight trainers so we can ditch diapers completely.

That’s so nice. It’s awesome that you gave her something that makes her feel proud. Maybe you can frame her stamp chart or laminate it for later when she grows up:)

It sounds like she is doing great! How nice to have her potty trained just after she turns two.
