Enough Already

I am not a confrontational person. I usually let things roll off my back, but things have gone too far.
I was excited to join the blogging community last year because it meant interaction from other adults. Being that we
only have one car I stay at home all day. We live out in the middle of nowhere, and there’s not much to do withing walking distance. I would look out my window and wait for other people to go to the park across the street and then I’d rush out with my daughter, just to get some interaction with an adult.
Lately though, I have seen so much meanness going on that it makes me ashamed to be a part of the mommy blogging community. These are adult women who are purposely going out of their way to be mean to people. Some of these people are very well known and considered “A-list” bloggers. I don’t get how they could be so rude and mean (picking on people’s kids, families, careers, etc) and still have a loyal following or companies that want to work with them. Honestly if you act like an adult version of “Mean Girls” I don’t want to be associated with you.
We should all be able to agree to disagree. I might not always agree with what you said, but I will still respect you. I won’t go around trashing you on different sites, make fun of your kids or your friends or anything like that. We are all adults, let’s act like it! I mean, what are we teaching our kids when we treat others like that.
So enough already, and if you don’t agree with me, that is fine, I just ask that you please refrain from bashing me for my opinion.

Hi Trisha,
It’s the way of the net these days. It’s easy for people to be mean when they’re behind a keyboard. Some think it’s funny, others not. The best thing is to avoid what you can’t tolerate.

My husband is in customer service and to be honest we have been noticing people in general getting really rude. What happened to manners?
I feel bad for them because its such a waste of energy, imagine all that energy being used for good things, think of what we could do!
The world is getting very selfish .

I keep everyone at a comfortable distance. So far I have not been witness to any of this kind of thing. I am sorry you have. Sometimes it is better to have a few friends and let everyone else be sort of a blur.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I wholeheartedly believe in Karma. So those that want to treat people poorly will soon get theirs. It does boggle my mind that companies want to work with the blogs that are trashing other people. But I do believe that companies will start getting smart too and those people that chose to act like a child will lose out.
I haven’t seen too much only because I haven’t had the time to frequent a lot of blogs like I like to. I just hope that I am not associating or following blogs that are doing this because I do NOT want to be associated with such meaness.

I am with you! Seriously be an adult and if you want to argue the topic, fine! But first get your facts straight and then DO NOT bash the person.
