College and a Ticket
Posted on 20. Aug, 2009 by Trish in Trisha
On Tuesday I had to drive my little sister down to college a few hours away. I had picked her up the day before at the airport and she babysat our daughter so my husband and I could go out on a double date with our neighbors, who haven’t been out in a long time either.
It was a pretty uneventful. We got her down there and moved in. None of her other roommates were there, but one came right as I was leaving. I just hope this is a better experience for her as opposed to last year. Her roommates last year were TERRIBLE! One would steal her food and then lie about it. I’m not just talking about a slice of cheese, no, I mean like a whole CASE of cream of chicken soup, or a whole package or tortillas, or the whole block of cheese. When she would be out of town at softball games, the neighbor would come over, get drunk and then decide he was too drunk to walk NEXT DOOR and go to bed, so he’d climb the stairs and sleep in her bed. She didn’t find this out until near the end of the school year, otherwise she would have gotten a lock for when she was gone. At least she knows most of the girls she is living with this year, and hopefully it will be a much better experience for her.
On the way back, I got pulled over for the very first time. He claimed I was going 18 over on the freeway, but I swear I wasn’t going that fast. He only wrote the ticket for 10 over, but here’s the funny part. He had ALL the wrong information about my car. He said I was driving a black 2009 Toyota Corolla, with a license plate that started with a Z. Ummm, not even close. I was driving our 2001 FIRE ENGINE RED Chevy Impala with a license plate that starts with a 0. I wonder if it was the previous car he had ticketed and forgot to change it in the computer, since the ticket was computerized, not hand written. I have to laugh however, and yes, I will be fighting it.

I’m sure you’ll get it thrown out… just bring in your registration showing you don’t even OWN that car! And bring in the person in your car with you saying what car you WERE driving. I’m thinking the policeman might not even show up in court, knowing he made a mistake and might not want to look like a fool. Good luck…. and good for you for never being pulled over for speeding… I probably shouldn’t say this and jinx myself, but I’ve never been pulled over for speeding either!!

The cop wrote up the wrong county for Clint once and he got it dropped because of that. I’m sure you will!

That’s the first time you’ve ever been pulled over? That’s pretty darn good. I hope you can get it dropped!

well considering he had the wrong information on the ticket there is probably a good chance that you can get it dropped
