A little while ago I wrote a post about how I was disappointed in Singer because my motor went bad on my Singer Confidence 7470 Sewing machine after only having it for one year. Well, after that post, I was contacted by Kate who works for Singer and she offered to have Singer fix the machine [...]

Well, I guess something serious has happened, and I have been going through hard times, but nothing that won’t be solved by July 25th.   Let [...]

Tragic Loss

I haven’t been online much lately as I am trying to do a mad dash to get ready for Christmas.  So this morning when I signed into a mom blogging community I was shocked to learned that a fellow member, Shellie from Blog 4 Mom, had lost her 2 year old son when he fell [...]

Where Oh Where Have My Lovely Keys Gone?*Update*

Oh where, oh where could they be?keys
I’ve searched all my couches, the rooms, and my bags,
Oh where, oh where could they be?

Yes, that is right.  My keys have decided to disappear on me.  I had them Friday when I went to check the mail.  Then I came inside, and haven’t seen them since.  My husband and I have searched everywhere, and we can’t find them anywhere.

I finally decided that they were gone for good, and I’d just have to get a new mail key.  All I had on my keyring was our mail key, and our house key (and my Smith’s card and my Hancock Fabrics card).  We have a spare house key, and the cards can easily be replaced.  It’s the mail key that bothered me.  So I decided to call the post office to see how I would go about getting a new one.  Our neighbors have had to get a new one and they said it was $15.  OK, not too bad.

I called the post office this morning and found out the fee had been raised recently.  From $15 to $40!  Holy cow!  That’s quite the raise.  The lady at the post office said it was because we had to pay the $20/hour salary for the guy to come out and change the lock, and the price of the metal has increased.  I’m sorry, but that is ridiculous.  I told her never mind and I’d just keep looking.  They’ve got to be around here somewhere, right?  Now if only I could figure out where.

*UPDATE*
I found them. Finally. Where? On the shelf they were supposed to be. I have a little shelf right by the front door that has some hooks where we hang our keys. Occasionally these keys get set on top of the shelf, and that is exactly where they were. Some things of my husband’s had fallen on top of them so we couldn’t see them. It is such a relief that they were found!

So glad you found them. I find that I always find stuff when I stop looking for it :)

aren’t you glad you found them before you paid the $40 to have them replaced! i loose my keys all the time! someone should make an alarm for those darn things!

Oh I’m so happy you found them. I’ve done that a million times but it’s usually because one of the kids had been playing with them. Glad you didn’t buy a new key for the mail…saved yourself 40 big ones! :)

Trisha if there is a chance your little one got a hold of them check in areas she plays , any little area she usually sticks things. We lost our keys once for a few weeks and here my girl had put them in a little cupboard on her play kitchen! Hope you find them soon, there is nothing more then losing your keys. It drives you mad looking for them!
