Holiday Happiness

I hope everyone has had a great holiday season so far. I know we have. It’s been super busy with all the family parties, but we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I have to say I am very blessed to have great inlaws and have them fairly nearby so we can see them often.
This was the first Christmas my daughter actually kind of “got it.” Well, she still doesn’t understand Santa, but she understands presents. She had fun opening them this year, when in the past we’ve always kind of had to open them for her. I think some of her favorite gifts were her slippers, which she refused to take off for a couple of days, her new laptop (it’s a kid’s one)- even though she doesn’t have any idea how to play any of the games, she just likes to pretend to type on it and be like mommy, and her play house. Oh, and she got a stuffed horse from her cousins that she loves. It comes in a little purse, and has a comb to brush it’s mane with, and a felt carrot and apple for her to feed to the pony. She wants to take it with her everywhere.
My new toy I got a couple of days before Christmas is a Nikon D3000 to try out. Nikon sent it to me to try out, and even though I have to return it, I had been thinking about getting a SLR anyways. So I’m excited to try it out. I apparently need a lot more training and knowledge because I have been unsuccessful in getting a decent picture off of auto. Everything else came out blurry. I did read the manual, and Pioneer Woman’s “What the Heck” series to try figure it out, but apparently knowing things in my head and actually putting them into practice are two separate things!
I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.
