Topsy Turvy Cake

Topsy Turvy Cake

Posted on 10. Sep, 2011 by Trish in Crafts

I’ve wanted to make a topsy turvy cake for a while now, but haven’t really had a reason to.  Well, on Thursday we had a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law and I offered to make a cake.  I figured this would be the perfect time to try it.

I had issues with layers sliding after I had the fondant on, so it’s not as nice as I wanted, but oh well!  Good think it’s supposed to be lopsided!  Her colors are purple and gray, so I was trying to semi match them.  Overall I think it was a success, and everyone loved it, so that’s what matters.

Love the cake – super cute! I’ve been wanting to make a cake using fondant also. Any suggestions on where to get it?

You can buy regular fondant by Wilton’s in any store that carried Wiltons, like Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanns, etc. I just make my own marshmallow fondant.

That is amazing! It really looks like it just popped right out of a Disney movie. Shame the internet doesn’t let you taste things..(yet!)
