Crocheted Baby Converse

Crocheted Baby Converse

Posted on 02. Jan, 2012 by Trish in Crafts

I recently went to a baby shower for one of my husband’s cousins, and wanted something fun to give.  I made another owl hat like these, but thought that wasn’t quite enough.

So I turned to ravelry and started looking at free baby boy shoes and came across these awesome crocheted Converse shoes.  I’d never made shoes before, but figured I’d give it a try.

Well, the first one took me for-ev-er!  I think it was close to about 6 or 7 hours.  Then I had to hurry and finish the other one the next morning.  Luckily that one only took maybe 3 hours.  I bet the next time I do these, however, it won’t take me that long.  It’s just figuring out how to do everything that took so long.  But they turned out adorable and everyone loved them!

My mom made those for my son for his baby shower in lime green, so we had matching shoes!

I wish I could figure out how to make them bigger since he has waaay outgrown them.
