Crocheted Football Baby Hat

I had a friend ask if anyone knew how to make a baby hat that looks like a football. It looked easy enough to me, so I tried it and this is what I came up with.
Super duper easy to do! Maybe if I get brave I’ll try to write down the pattern for this. I’ve never done a crochet pattern before. What do you think? Should I try?

I found your directions on a reversible tutu which were soo good (thank you!!) and came across the football hat, it is sooo adorable!!!
